Kosher Food Order
As the amount of Kosher food available for purchase in Salt Lake City is still limited, we order Kosher food from Los Angeles about once a month. Please contact us to join our food orders and be put on the e-mail list for notification of the next Kosher food order being made, or to special order Kosher food for your event or celebration. There is a minimal charge for shipping, in addition to the cost of the food.
Boarding Schools
There are hundreds of Jewish boys and girls in boarding and therapy schools throughout Utah. They have absolutely no contact with Jews or Judaism, and are frequently subject to talks by other religious groups. Chabad of Utah is their only Jewish experience while going through these difficult times. If your child is now or will soon be attending a boarding school, or if you know of a Jewish boy or girl presently in one, please call us for assistance at 801.467.7777. Rabbi Benny Zippel visits some schools every week, talks to and encourages the Jewish students, and private visits to other schools are also frequently made.
Kosher Kitchen
Do you have questions about keeping a Kosher kitchen? Have you decided to go Kosher? Call Trayf Busters at 801.467.7777, and we'll answer all of your questions, discuss your needs, and put the finishing touches to render your kitchen free of all non-Kosher elements.
Mezuzah & Tefilin Inspection
Did you know that your doorposts' Mezuzahs and your Tefilin should be inspected frequently, as much as once a year? Mold, old age, use and abuse can all contribute to the cracking of the handwritten letters, of the parchment or the ruin of the Tefilin enclosure. Any of these will render your Mezuzah or Tefilin non-Kosher. Call us, and we will have your old Tefilin and Mezuzahs inspected, or if you don't have them yet, come to your home and install new Mezuzot.
Counseling
A great deal of stress and anxiety accumulates in our modern-day lives. Children, teenagers, singles, couples and the elderly can all use a sympathetic ear and some helpful advice. We sincerely hope you or someone you know will never need this service, but if you do, we are here to help!
Brit Milah
We can arrange a ritual circumcision for males of any age, eight days and up. Rabbi Nachman Kreiman of Los Angeles will perform for babies, and Rabbi Yisroel Heller of New York for children, teens and adults who have not had the privilege of entering the Covenant of Abraham.
